Our goal is to help individuals who are already on a GLP-1 learn how to eat right, train effectively, and protect muscle while losing fat. Always consult your doctor before starting or adjusting any medication.
One thing I’ve learned on my own GLP-1 journey is that low energy is part of the process.
It’s not permanent — but it is real.
When your body is losing weight quickly and your food intake drops, it’s normal to feel tired or sluggish.
Your system is adapting to new calorie levels, digestion speed, and hormone signals.
At Game Changing Performance in Mundelein, we remind every client that progress often comes with a short-term cost — and that cost is energy.
GLP-1 medications slow digestion and reduce appetite, which helps control hunger and improve blood sugar.
But because you naturally eat less, your body also receives fewer calories and nutrients — leading to fatigue, brain fog, or dips in motivation.
In simple terms:
You’re fueling less, so your energy tank runs lower.
This doesn’t mean something’s wrong — it means your body is adjusting.
Over the past few months, I’ve learned a few key things that make a huge difference:
➡️ Prioritize Protein:
Protein not only preserves muscle but helps stabilize energy throughout the day.
➡️ Choose Nutrient-Dense Foods:
Whole proteins, colorful vegetables, and healthy fats support steady energy better than empty carbs.
➡️ Hydrate Consistently:
Dehydration is a sneaky fatigue trigger. Aim for 80–100 oz of water daily, plus electrolytes.
➡️ Don’t Skip Movement:
Even light walking or resistance training boosts blood flow and energy. It sounds counterintuitive, but moving more often actually helps you feel better.
When energy drops, it’s easy to start skipping workouts, missing meals, or losing consistency.
But this is where long-term transformation is built — not by doing more, but by staying steady.
You have to remind yourself: this phase isn’t forever.
Your energy will return, and when it does, you’ll be stronger, leaner, and more confident than ever.
Our GLP-1 Coaching Program at Game Changing Performance helps clients in the Mundelein, Libertyville, and Vernon Hills areas manage every part of the process — including fatigue.
We help you:
Create meal plans that keep energy stable
Adjust training based on your recovery needs
Use accountability to stay consistent when motivation fades
Build habits that make your transformation sustainable
When energy dips, structure is what keeps progress moving. That’s where coaching makes all the difference.
If you’re experiencing low energy on GLP-1, know that it’s not a setback — it’s part of the journey.
Your body is changing, adapting, and learning how to operate at a new pace.
With the right nutrition, training, and support, you can keep moving forward — even when your tank feels empty.
