For over 20 years, I struggled with binge eating.
It didn’t matter how disciplined I was in the gym or how well I tracked my food — something always pulled me back into the same pattern.
I’d go weeks eating clean and feeling focused, and then, without warning, I’d binge.
People often told me, “You just need to manage your emotions better.”
But that was never the problem.
My binges didn’t happen when I was sad or stressed.
They happened when I was happy, relaxed, even celebrating.
It wasn’t emotional — it was chemical. My brain simply didn’t register fullness or satisfaction the way it should have.
No matter what I tried — programs, coaching, therapy, intuitive eating — the food noise never left. It was like an internal switch I couldn’t control.
Then, 24 hours after starting a GLP-1 medication, it was just… gone.
For the first time in two decades, I didn’t have to fight my brain around food.
The urge to binge disappeared.
Now, 14 weeks later, I still haven’t had a single binge — or even the desire to.
That doesn’t mean everything is perfect. I still focus on eating right, training smart, and managing my nutrition carefully. But for the first time, I’m doing it without a battle raging in my head.
