The first thing you may think when you hear about BCAAs is, “What does BCAA even mean?” Is it some scientific jargon or some complex nutritional compound? It is actually pretty simple. BCAA stands for “branched-chain amino acids”. Amino acids (the building blocks of protein) are compounds that your body needs to function properly and build many of your body structures, like your muscles. The three amino acids that this supplement contains are branch chained (which refers to their molecular structure).

But the more important characteristic is that they are essential, which means that your body needs them, but they cannot be produced naturally within your body. They need to be consumed from outside sources. BCAAs can be found in some foods such as eggs or beef, as well as in our BCAA supplement. Our supplement contains 3 essential amino acids, specifically Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine.

Ingredients

  • Leucine: Leucine is essential for protein synthesis (the production of protein in the body). It is also used to generate ATP, which is a source of fuel in the body. Leucine can also regulate several cellular processes such as tissue regeneration, and metabolism.
  • Isoleucine: Isoleucine helps regulate blood sugar. It has also been shown to boost energy and endurance during a workout, as well as aid in the recovery of muscle tissue after a workout (when the muscle is being built).
  • Valine: Valine works specifically to enhance energy and increase endurance, It also aids in muscle tissue recovery and repair.

Benefits

Now we have your first question answered. But your second question is probably more important, and that is, “Why should I take BCAAs? What can they do for my body?”

Protein Synthesis

BCAAs produce an anabolic response driven by a stimulation of muscle protein synthesis. This process gives your body adequate protein to build muscle.

Muscle Recovery

By reducing the rate of muscle breakdown and enhancing how quickly muscles can heal themselves, BCAAs can help minimize muscular discomfort and speed up recovery after a workout.

Extended Endurance

By boosting energy and blocking fatigue, BCAAs help you have increased endurance throughout a workout. They also provide fuel for muscles both during and after exercise.

Taste

Besides having a positive impact on your workouts and recovery, BCAAs are a great-tasting, low-calorie drink that can be consumed any time throughout the day. We offer them in 3 great flavors: Peachy Mango, Fruit Punch, and Blackberry Lemonade (All of which I really enjoy drinking). They are a great way to add some variety to your day.
